  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla and sour cream.
  4. Gradually combine dry ingredients with the wet mixture and fold in the diced apples.
  5. Pour half the batter into the prepared pan, sprinkle with half the cinnamon-sugar mixture, add the remaining batter, top with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mix, and swirl gently.
  6. Bake for 50–55 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool before slicing.
