Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 8 oz semisweet or dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups fresh raspberries (plus extra for topping)
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and chopped chocolate together until smooth. Remove from heat to cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted chocolate mixture with granulated sugar and brown sugar. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt, folding gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in half of the fresh raspberries and chocolate chips if using.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Scatter remaining raspberries on top.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Allow brownies to cool completely before slicing into squares.
