  • 3/4 cup almond flour
  • 2 large egg whites (room temperature)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup Nutella (or more, as needed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Sift together almond flour and powdered sugar in a bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites and salt until foamy; gradually add granulated sugar while beating until stiff peaks form. Gently mix in vanilla extract.
  4. Fold the sifted almond mixture into the whipped egg whites until the batter flows like lava.
  5. Pipe 1-inch rounds onto prepared baking sheets and let them rest for 30–45 minutes until dry to the touch.
  6. Bake for 14–16 minutes or until risen with soft interiors; cool completely on wire racks.
  7. Once cool, pipe Nutella onto one macaron shell and sandwich with another.
