  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 ½ cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Add diced onion and minced garlic; sauté until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat, then stir in marinara sauce along with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5–10 minutes.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese with one egg and season with salt. Stir in grated Parmesan.
  5. In a baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Layer with three noodles followed by half of the ricotta mixture and one-third of shredded mozzarella. Repeat until ingredients are used up; top with remaining meat sauce and cheese.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Let rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
