  • 16 oz ziti or penne pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound turkey sausage
  • 32 oz marinara sauce
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese (divided)
  • 3/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese (divided)
  • Fresh basil, chopped
  • Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and spray a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente; drain and drizzle with olive oil.
  3. In a sauté pan, brown the turkey sausage until fully cooked; set aside.
  4. Mix ricotta cheese, egg, half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, basil, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  5. Combine the cooked pasta with the ricotta mixture and marinara sauce; add the sausage.
  6. Pour into the baking dish and top with remaining cheeses.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
