  • 1/4 cup full-fat sour cream (room temperature)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×5 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking soda, kosher salt, cinnamon, and ginger; whisk well.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together light brown sugar, white sugar, egg, vegetable oil, sour cream, and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined; fold in chopped apples.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Allow cooling in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
  8. For the glaze, mix sifted powdered sugar with vanilla extract and milk to desired consistency; drizzle over cooled bread.
