  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored & diced
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tbsp milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Toss diced apples with brown sugar and cinnamon; set aside.
  3. Cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time and add vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, whisk flour and baking powder; gradually combine with the butter mixture, alternating with milk.
  5. Pour half the batter into the pan, layer with half the apple mixture, repeat layers, and swirl lightly.
  6. Bake for 50–55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  8. Whisk glaze ingredients together; drizzle over cooled bread.
